Eversource Energy is a diversified holding company whose subsidiaries provide rate-regulated electric, gas, and water distribution to more than 4 million customers in the Northeast US, with territory expanded via the NStar (2012), Aquarion (2017), and Columbia Gas (2020) acquisitions. In 2024 it exited its 50% partnership with Orsted to develop 2 gigawatts of Northeast offshore wind, and it plans to sell Aquarion in 2026. It exited most unregulated businesses in 2006.
